Posted on Feb 24th, 2020
From Hillsborough County Public Works:
Please be advised that as part of the Bell Shoals Widening project the following traffic adjustments and intermittent night work will be necessary to complete the upcoming phase of construction.
Motorists traveling North on Boyette Rd. at Bell Shoals Rd. Intersection (Beginning Feb. 24)
- Boyette Rd. North Bound Right/Through lane will be reduced to a right-turn only lane.
- Boyette Rd. North Bound Center Lane will become a dedicated through lane and maintained during this phase of the project.
- Boyette Rd. North Bound Left lane will remain unchanged.
Motorists traveling on Bell Shoals Rd. (Traffic Shifts) (Beginning Feb. 24)
- Bell Shoals Rd. from South of Waterford Run Dr. to North of Alafia River Bridge: Two-way traffic will be shifted west within this segment of Bell Shoal Rd. until further notice. Motorists should expect intermittent delays while crews perform bridge and roadway work.
- Bell Shoals Rd. from North of River Hammock Blvd. for 700 feet: Motorists should expect heavy equipment entering and leaving the work areas while crews perform drainage system and pond work. Flagmen will divert traffic around work areas as needed.
Motorists traveling East, West, and South at Bell shoals Intersection will not be impacted.
Intermittent night work related to the traffic switch is scheduled to occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Feb. 23 and ending February 27.
Some sidewalks may be closed within the project area. Pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured to a safer route, as needed. All road users and pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution when traveling near work zones.
If you have questions about the upcoming work, please call Hillsborough County Public Works at (813) 635-5400. Thank you for your continued understanding and patience during this project.
